Bruce Sherley, P.Eng., President and Chief Executive Officer of Dundee Energy, the parent company of subsidiary Dundee Energy Limited Partnership that in 2010 acquired oil and gas assets in southern Ontario. Mr. Sherley joined the company in 1999 and has played a major role its oil and gas operations, maturing its underground natural gas storage project in Spain, and evaluating the company’s exploration acreage internationally. Mr. Sherley spent 23 years with Home Oil Company Limited in various management and executive capacities of increasing responsibility in Canadian and international operations.
Cameron Berry has served as a director of the Company since July, 2010, and has over 35 years experience in the mining industry. Mr. Berry is a geologist and a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta. Mr. Berry has been a member of several public company boards.
John F. Cowan joined the board of directors in 2011. Mr Cowan has 35 years experience as a petroleum geologist in Ontario, Michigan and the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. He has been a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists since 1979 and is a past president of the Ontario Petroleum Institute. Mr. Cowan has co-founded a number of private and publicly traded energy companies.
Harold P. "Sonny" Gordon has served as Chairman and a director of the company since March 2014. Mr. Gordon was Chairman and a Director of Dundee Corporation since November 2001, and has been Vice-Chairman since 2014. Prior to this he was Vice-Chairman and a director of Hasbro Inc., a position he held until May 2002. In addition to serving as a director of Dorel Industries and Dundee Corporation, Mr. Gordon also serves as the Chair of Dorel’s Human Resources Committee and a member of the Company’s Corporate Governance Committee. He has served on a number of other boards as well. Mr. Gordon has previously worked as a special assistant to a Minister of the Government of Canada, and was a managing partner of Stikeman Elliott LLP during his 28 year career as a practicing lawyer.
Samuel Ingram has served as a director of the Company since July, 2010. Mr. Ingram has over 30 years experience in resource industries, having been Chief Legal Officer for publicly listed oil and gas and mining companies. Mr. Ingram has also been a member of several public company boards.
Jaffar Khan (CA) has served as a director of the Company since 2002, and has over 35 years experience in the energy sector, including the development of a major energy project in Pakistan worth $600 million. From 1971 to 1991, Mr. Khan was Chief Financial Officer of Canada Northwest Energy Ltd. After the acquisition of the company by Sherritt Inc., he worked on projects in Cuba and Mexico. Prior to commencing his current role at Eurogas International Inc, he was and remained until June 2015 President, Chief Executive Officer and a Director of Dundee Energy Limited. Mr. Khan continues to sit on the Board of Dundee Energy Limited.
Garth MacRae has served as a director of the company since 1994. Mr. MacRae has over 40 years of experience in the resource industry, as well as over 20 years of public accounting experience. Mr. MacRae has held executive positions with Hudson Bay Mining, Brinco Limited and Denison Mines Limited and served as Vice Chairman of Dundee Corporation from 1993 until 2004. Mr. MacRae holds a Chartered Professional Accountant designation. He is also a director of several publicly-traded natural resource companies.
Michael Smith has served as a director of the Company since 2008. Mr. Smith has over 35 years of experience with the investment industry, is the founding member of the law firm Smith and Zoldhelyi and is currently a practicing lawyer. Mr. Smith has been a member of the board of directors of several recognized public companies as well as legal counsel with the Ontario Securities Commission.
